Another quiet 2 weeks (weeks 8 & 9) - been having lots of headaches & still feeling very nauseous, but no actual vomiting - not sure if that's a good thing of not. Sometimes I wish I could vomit because I think that maybe I might feel better afterwards, but then I worry about opening up the floodgates & fear that like when pregnant with Georgie, that i won't stop vomiting.
So I sit & suffer through the nausea.
I've been trying travel bands - not sure if they are working because I am still feeling sick, or if they are at least taking the edge off & without them I would be a whole lot sicker - its such a Catch 22 situation. I have also been trying additional B6 & some Travelcalm (Ginger) supplements.
I'm finding that I am loving lots of fruit again (had this with Georgie too) - the cold sweetness & juice seem to help with the nausea - loving Rockmelon (cantelopes for the yanks ;) ) & watermelon - oh & mangoes - yumm
I booked in for my NT Scan on 28th Nov & my first antenatal appointment at the hospital on 3rd December. I am going to see my GP (Family Dr) on Monday to check that all is going Ok because I am just needing a little reassurance & 28th November seems so far away.
My Baby
At 8 weeks;
An ultrasound done at this stage should show a fluttering heartbeat. Elbows begin to form in the arms and fingers start to develop. The leg buds begin to show feet with tiny notches for the toes. The face continues to change as the ears, eyes and the tip of the nose appear. The intestines start to form in the umbilical cord. Teeth develop under the gums.
At 9 weeks;
Cartilage and bones begin to form. The basic structure of the eye is well underway and the tongue begins to develop. The intestines start to move out of the umbilical cord and into the abdomen as the body grows and makes room. The fingers and thumb have appeared but are short and webbed.
