50% done

I still find it hard to believe that I have reached the half-way point. 21 weeks down - 130 days to go.
I'm finally settling into the pregnancy now, feeling tired (bad insomnia), lots of back aches, still getting restless legs at night & is hard to get comfortable - but all these are exciting !!!!!!! Yes I'm excited to be fat, in pain & uncomfortable because all these symptoms are NORMAL.

YAY Finally I am having normal things happen rather than scares etc.
Our little boy is constantly on the move, lots & lots of kicking, punching & squirming - but of course just like his big sister, he has an element of "the bugger" in him, whenever anyone else tries to feel the kicks, he stops in his tracks, then picks up right where he left off as soon as they remove their hands.

But it is just so reassuring feeling him (despite some of them really being uncomfortable) because I know that he is happy in there (or slightly pissed off) either way, he's moving around.
Had another ante-natal appointment yesterday, all well & going to plan.
Have to check my glucose tolerance next week (starting much earlier due to previous history of gestational diabetes). i am fully expecting to get it again as the risk is higher in 2nd pregnancies, its not a matter of if just a matter of when. But I am ready, I was able to control really well last time with diet only so am confident I can do the same. Will also be checking my thyroid progress too, just in case I need to up my meds.
But all in all, things are going really really well. Now to just start preparing the house - ahhhh what a job that will be.

Kick, Kick, Kick

This little boy sure knows how to kick.

He has been using my insides for football practice since 11-12 weeks - although back then I basically had to lay still & stop breathing in order to feel the very faint little movements. Not anymore. We definitely have a future Rugby Union star on our hands

Yesterday I could actually see my stomach moving with his kicks, was really neat, but as soon as either Brad or Georgie try to feel them, he stops in his tracks. Apparently its a little trick for Mummy only at this stage, but I'm sure that will change real soon. Some of yesterdays actually started to hurt a little they were that hard.

So little guy, try to take it a bit easier with your old mum hey? Oh yes, & lay off kicking my cervix too - that is REALLY uncomfortable.

Oh there he goes again, I think he has taken exception to being outed as a kick-aholic.

We are having a........

BABY BOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now we will have the perfect pair, one of each....... We are really excited, shocked but excited. we were pretty sure that we were having a girl, but happy nonetheless.

Everything else in the scan was really good - all normal, with the exception that the placenta is still low lying, so we are still on watch mode with that.

But our dear little boy is measuring to date with all the relevant bits & pieces he is meant to have & he was pretty proud to show them off too.

Here's the ultrasound pics...

So now the search for a name begins. Boys names are so hard to pick, got to try to be masculine & suitable for a man, but still cute enough for a little boy. Its going to be a long road to find that perfect name for our little boy.
